About Parkside Electrolysis & Aesthetics
Parkside is committed to providing quality aesthetics, beauty therapy treatments, electrolysis permanent hair removal, and skin blemish removal treatments since 1981.
Parkside opened its doors in January 1981 and was called Parkside Beauty Centre. Denise Keys and Elaine Clarke were friends from school both studied beauty at college and worked separately after college before coming together to open a small local business that became the beauty hub of Islington and Holloway taking a holistic approach to the beauty needs of clients. Since 1981 the beauty industry has evolved with many specialist establishments offering a single beauty treatment such as eyebrow and lash bars, nail-only salons, etc…Parkside has maintained its all-around beauty hub status though it has always specialised in skin and electrolysis where it has managed to make a name for itself in the successful permanent solution to unwanted facial and body hair with electrolysis. Elaine Clarke managed and became the owner of Parkside Beauty Centre from 1993 till 2019.
I took over in 2019, having worked at Parkside since 1993. My passion has always been electrolysis as the permanent solution to unwanted hair and skin blemishes, which can be disfiguring and cause discomfort. I looked at the possibility of taking on and learning laser hair removal for the speed it could provide for my clients who requested large body areas to be treated, having researched and then discovered, that laser is not permanent for all clients and it isn’t suitable for areas governed by hormones. I can’t bear to give clients hope that they might have results; I want to confirm and promise permanent results. I’ve completely focused on my skill as an electrologist and skin specialist learning and using the latest techniques and equipment. We use the latest Apilus XCell Pur machines and specialist loupes.
The staff at Parkside Electrolysis & Aesthetics have a thorough knowledge of electrolysis our regularly in-house training ensures our treatment strategies and techniques are up to date. We are members of the BIAE (British Institute and Association of Electrolysis) I am a current board member and was the Chairperson from 2019-2021. I am an assessor for the BIAE and run courses for members to upskill their hair removal techniques along with master classes for machine knowledge and pre-exam mentoring sessions and ACP training.
As the beauty industry has evolved we have to; an honest holistic approach will always be at the forefront. We have developed our skills and knowledge to reflect the demand and changes in the industry. Our treatments include traditional beauty treatments, Aesthetic treatments including injectables, and permanent hair and skin blemish removal.
Look forward to meeting and treating you soon.
